Traditional Braces

When you think of orthodontic treatments for your teeth, traditional braces are likely the first thing that comes to mind. 

With these types of braces, metal brackets are attached to each of your teeth with a metal archwire threaded through each bracket. These archwires work to gradually move your teeth into the ideal position throughout the course of treatment. Traditional braces require office visits every few weeks to get the wires tightened to ensure that consistent pressure is being applied.

Clear, or ceramic, braces work much the same as traditional metal braces. Brackets are attached to each of your teeth and connected with archwires. However, with clear braces, orthodontists use brackets made of tooth-colored, ceramic material, which makes this treatment option much less visible.
